Ok, so we’ve been a little quiet lately here at the XX blog since there hasn’t been much to report on XX or this election. What? Nothing to report on the election?? “Why, that’s a mighty surprising assertion,” you might say, “because you sure wouldn’t know it from watching the news.” But all this hubbub [insert snappy hyperlink to campaign coverage here] leading up to today’s primaries in Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island and Vermont means absolutely nothing when you think about it—it’s all polls and speculation and attack ads and retorts and pundits bandying their talking points. So much ado about nada.
It’s true: Hillary and Barack are fighting it out for every last vote hoping to gain as many delegates they can get. But all the coverage surrounding the race is just anticipatory filler to pass the time until the real results come in, which may or may not even prove conclusive. And if it’s still up in the air after tonight, then Pennsylvania will become the next “make-or-break”, “do-or-die”, “be-all-and-end-all” contest in this epically exhausting Democratic Primary. So much drama! So much suspense! So much to obsess over and so much to burn out on.
